Testing The Billing Tools

nderstanding the business impact of each electronic-billing scenario is crucial to the strategic direction your organization takes. To that end, Doculabs and InformationWeek Labs are conducting a benchmark study of Web-based billing technologies. The study is designed to evaluate the products that help billers make their bills available online. In addition, we'll take a look at some consolidation services to understand the subtleties and strategic direction taken by these vendors to provide solutions in the market.

While the focus is bill presentment, the study will also consider the payment technologies involved in the transfer of funds. In addition to looking at the functional aspects of all of the offerings, we will pay close attention to the strategies taken by the vendors in addressing the bill presentment and payment market--information that can assist organizations in selecting partners.

This benchmark study will be a comprehensive formal evaluation of the new tools for Web-based billing, representing the various technology categories involved in this market and comparing some of the leading solutions for electronic bill presentment. Results will be published in a future issue of InformationWeek Labs, and will be part of Doculabs' technical reference set on electronic bill presentment.
