InformationWeek acknowledges the organizations listed below, all of which
fell just short of
making the final list of the 500 most innovative IT users in 1998.Each of these companies, like those in the InformationWeek 500, is demonstrating the importance it places on technology, including areas such as electronic commerce, application development, data access, and business processes/enterprise resource planning.
InformationWeek also acknowledges the IT leadership and innovation at many other
companies,
not listed here, which chose not to take part in this year's selection process for a variety of
reasons. These include recent mergers and acquisitions that complicated the process of
assessing IT infrastructure investments and projects within those organizations.
