ompanies and other organizations that have experience in operating supply chains or value chains obviously see the benefits of these linkages, since 70% say they plan to increase their spending on electronic purchasing or sales applications in 1999. Only a minute number of IT managers surveyed-4%-see their companies spending considerably less this year. About one in four sees spending on these applications staying at 1998 levels.
