Safe Check Printers
Kyocera Electronics' new line of Magnetic Ink Character Recognition printers provides a safe solution for printing checks and financial documents and eliminates the need for preprinted checks. The three new printers, the FS-1714M, FS-3718M, and FS-7028M, have features that provide secure check and document processing, including a Font Safe PCMCIA card that stores fonts and can be easily removed and locked in a secure location when not in use; Print Safe, which prevents printing when toner is at a low level so each check is printed clearly and accurately; and Document Safe, lockable, sealed drawers that provide secure storage for check stock and other sensitive documents. Price: The FS-1714M provides 14 page-per-minute printing and is priced at $1,999; the FS-3718M provides 18 ppm printing with a duty cycle of 50,000 pages a month and is priced at $2,699; the FS-7028M provides 28 ppm printing with a duty cycle of 100,000 pages per month and is priced at $4,499.
