Sun Microsystems has unveiled a suite of Java storage-management software, including StorEdge Management Console and StorEdge Component Manager. The management console provides a centralized interface for storage management and supports plug-in tools that perform specific management tasks. The component manager provides central monitoring, diagnosis, and control of one or more StorEdge arrays and associated physical enclosures. Price: The management console is $21,000, and the component manager is $1,500. The software is provided at no charge with the purchase of any of Sun A5x00 arrays.
