January 2008- The read only Blu-ray Disc (BD-ROM) uses a substrate of about 1.1 mm nominal thickness. In the case of a Single Layer disc the substrate is covered with 1 Recorded Layer on top of which a transparent Cover Layer of about 0.1 mm is applied.
