Microsoft Announces Windows Phone 7

With mobile carriers and smartphone manufacturers in tow, Microsoft took to the stage at Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona, Spain to unveil its latest smartphone operating system: Windows Mobile 7. Included in this image gallery are photos of the many devices that were announced simultaneously with the launch of Windows Mobile 7 as well as many images of the operating system's new features in action.

The home screen, or Start, on Windows Phone 7 Series can be customized with "live tiles" that show the latest updates from the Web directly to customers. For example, create a "live tile" of a friend and gain a readable, up-to-date view of that person's latest pictures and posts, just by glancing at Start.
