TinyURL Comes To Firefox 2.0

One of my favorite Firefox extensions has finally been updated for Firefox 2.0. TinyURL lets you make wicked long URLs into short ones, which are easier to e-mail to other people, post to newsgroups, or write down with a pen and paper. For example: Consider this URL:

One of my favorite Firefox extensions has finally been updated for Firefox 2.0. TinyURL lets you make wicked long URLs into short ones, which are easier to e-mail to other people, post to newsgroups, or write down with a pen and paper.

For example: Consider this URL:

http://informationweek.com/TechSearch/Search.jhtml;jsessionid=X2UMGR0N
LDUTKQSNDLRSKHSCJUNN2JVN?site_id=InformationWeek&personality=category&q
ueryText=Microsoft+vista+office+exchange&Search.x=0&Search.y=0

Whoa, nelly, that's one long URL!

But with TinyURL, it becomes:

http://tinyurl.com/ydsj65

Sweet! And the TinyURL extension to Firefox automatically copies the shorter URL to your clipboard, which is nice.

You can also use TinyURL directly from the TinyURL Web site, at TinyURL.com
