Filemaker Go

Go is the mobile version of Filemaker Pro, the long-standing database software for Windows and Mac. Filemaker is a wholly owned Apple subsidiary, so naturally there's a native Go app for iPad. (There's a separate iPhone app as well.) Filemaker Go enables teams to view and modify records from their iPad--those changes are instantly visible to everyone else within the organization who has access, whether they're using the desktop version in the office or the iOS app while on the road. Filemaker's most recent Go updates include features like digital signature capture. Executives can close deals digitally, and the contract is immediately available to the rest of the team, for example. In combination with wireless print functionality, the signature function also makes good sense for event management teams. Enhanced graphs, charts, and other visuals support better presentations of data on the iPad's ample touchscreen. Filemaker Go 1.2 for iPad runs $39.99.
