Curiosity Nears the Red Planet

NASA's Mars Science Lab approaches Mars in this artist's rendering. This scene occurs after the cruise stage has been discarded and about 10 minutes before the spacecraft enters Mars' atmosphere. Curiosity isn't visible because it's tucked inside the aeroshell.
