NASA Curiosity Visual Tour: Mars, Revealed
August 10, 2012 03:06 PM NASA's car-like Curiosity rover beams back views from the Red Planet, revealing the most detailed depiction of Mars surface to date.
This is the first image taken by the Navcams, which are used to help find the sun. A shadow of the rover's mast appears in the center, and the arm's shadow on the left. Using the position of the shadow, scientists can confirm the sun's location.
