8 Cool Windows 8 Tablets
October 27, 2012 09:08 AM As Microsoft and its hardware partners produce Windows 8 devices in droves, here's a look at some of the more noteworthy launches.
Microsoft Surface
The Surface comes in two versions. Surface RT runs Windows RT on ARM chips, which means long battery life but no legacy app support. It starts at $499. Surface Pro runs Windows 8 Professional on Intel Atom. It may not be quite as mobile-friendly, but it can plug into the full Windows ecosystem.
