NGES will also optionally integrate with Microsoft's Exchange platform -- letting users read RSS feeds from within Outlook, Outlook Web Access, Pocket Outlook, and Entourage.

The centrally-deployed and managed software puts RSS on corporate desktops, laptops, and PDAs without the need to install individual clients or plug-ins on each, said NewsGator. Bandwidth is also saved, said the Denver-based company, because each feed is periodically scanned only once, regardless of the number of end users subscribed to that feed.
"We've seen enterprise adoption of RSS increase dramatically over the last year, for both internal and external content," said Greg Reinacker, NewsGator's chief technology officer, in a statement. "However, security and manageability concerns have limited its widespread adoption in many companies."
NGES will be able to tie in with Active Directory, said Reinacker, for single sign-on, and group administration and management.
More information about the server, which will run on Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003 systems, can be found at the NewsGator Web site.
