Casting About

Posted by Tom Smith, Apr 4, 2006 12:34 PM

Last week those of us who opine in the InformationWeek Daily newsletter each day reached something of an internal milestone: our 100th Daily news podcast. That's 20 weeks' worth of audio versions of our flagship newsletter (all of which are available here).

It's been a fun and interesting ride so far, as we've adapted this core InformationWeek product to the latest medium for information presentation and, we hope, met the needs of an increasingly mobile and time-crunched audience.

At the same time, we're continuing to build an archive of podcasts on other topics and issues that our reporting staff considers pressing to readers. Some recent topics include digital films and entertainment, Oracle's Fusion and open-source initiatives, adware, and an exclusive interview with Bill Gates.

Having built this library of podcasts and reached this point in our evolution, I'd like to solicit your feedback (submit comments below) on our podcasts. Are you using them? Do they have the right content you're looking for? Is the length (typically shorter than 10 minutes) right for you? When and how do you listen to them?

I also invite you to complete our poll and tell us what material is most valuable or appealing to you in a podcast format.
