Google's Gdrive Stands For 'Government Drive'
As the screenshot shows, Google's forthcoming storage service claims to offer several advantages over local storage. These include the availability of backup files in case of computer loss, the ability to sync files across machines and operating systems, the ability to create shared workspaces, and offline file access. Not listed among the supposed benefits of the service is this one: making your private files available to the government in perpetuity. Google, of course, could avoid this possibility by offering encrypted storage.
