Be very, very quiet. We're hunting for Google at 3GSM. I have to admit, I am a little disappointed with Google at this year's show. Last year, they wowed the crowds with customer deals and announcements (I had to follow the news then online, since I wasn't here for the 2006 show). And for the last six months, they've been talking about wireless almost non-stop. So where is the Google news at 3GSM?

Google had one major announcement here. They agreed to offer Google Maps over Vodafone's networks. The companies said they will work together to develop location-based applications.

Google also announced a partnership with YouTube to help bring the video service to Nokia handsets.

While these applications sound cool, they are a little disappointing. I mean, common. We've all been waiting for the Google Phone for months, and not word here in Barcelona. How about mobile search? Zip. And mobile ads? Yahoo, not Google, broke that news.
