Join Us For A Kaffeeklatsch In Second Life

Posted by Mitch Wagner, Feb 16, 2007 01:26 PM

Join us in Second Life Tuesday at 7 am for the first in a regular, twice-weekly series of kaffeeklatsches to discuss the top technology news and trends of the day, co-hosted by InformationWeek and Dr. Dobb's Journal.

It's an informal get-together, come whenever and stay as long as you like. We'll be hanging around until 9 am.

The suggested subject for the first get-together will be "Doing Business In Second Life." Is there any real money being made here (by anybody who's not Anshe Chung), or are Linden Dollars just Monopoly money that everybody's having a good time passing back and forth? Don't feel limited to that subject -- we can talk about whatever tech topics are most interesting to you.

Meet us in DDJ's build in SL, Notre Dame de Caffeine. this coming Tuesday and every Tuesday and Friday, 7-9 am Pacific time. We'll be serving coffee, giving away free Dr. Dobb's T-shirts, and figuring out whether we spelled "kaffeeklatsch" correctly. Look for me -- or, rather, my SL avatar, Ziggy Figaro -- and my co-host John Jainschigg of Doctor Dobb's, a/k/a John Zhaoying in SL

Don't worry about the vampires. They're great neighbors. We haven't had an incident in weeks. If you've heard otherwise, you've been listening to lies spread by our enemies.

And to keep up with what InformationWeek is doing in Second Life, join our SL group. Second Lifers can find it by using the in-world search.
