AT&T Says The iPhone Will Be On Time. Take That, Bloggers!
According to a report from Reuters, AT&T COO Randall Stephenson is looking to quell consumer fears - and maybe silence us bloggers - by issuing a statement about the iPhone. Nah.According to a report from Reuters, AT&T COO Randall Stephenson is looking to quell consumer fears - and maybe silence us bloggers - by issuing a statement about the iPhone. "The iPhone is on target to launch in June," he says. Are his words enough to shut the blogosphere up? Nah.Why? Because nothing in this world is certain, that's why. Anything could happen at any time to delay the iPhone. The FCC could give it a failing grade. Taiwanese manufacturers could go on strike. Something could delay the iPhone from passing through customs. Or, heaven forbid, Apple just might not be able to get it done on time.
Of course, we all hope none of that comes to pass. As spectacular as it would be to watch the outcry from any delay in shipping the iPhone, we sincerely hope it will ship on time. In the meantime, though, we'll latch onto every whisper, every rumor, every hushed voice that mentions the iPhone and blab about it to you fine folks. Partly because that's our job. And partly because sometimes, where there's smoke, there's fire.

Stephenson had some more comments to further quash any fears, especially about the iPhone's performance. He told Reuters,"Our expectations are good. Our testing has been good." When questioned about how many of the devices will be available at launch, he said, "We got a million people waiting to buy it so we're hoping we get a million."
