FCC Gives iPhone Thumbs Up: Guess That Means Apple Will Make The June Deadline

Posted by Stephen Wellman, May 17, 2007 08:19 PM

The iPhone today was officially approved by the FCC. That's right, Mac fans, you were right and we bloggers were wrong. It looks like your iPhone party will commence on schedule next month.

Documents on the FCC Web site show the iPhone has passed all its tests and is ready to graduate to the market. And not a minute too soon.

Rumors broke yesterday on Engadget that the iPhone would be delayed until October, but they were rapidly dismissed as a hoax.

I guess that means that bloggers (like yours truly) who questioned the iPhone's launch timeline have to eat crow, right? Well, my order is officially on hold until the device, you know, actually ships.
