Simplifying Web Searching From The Mac
Instead of going directly to a search page and typing in a query, you just type a keyword into the address bar, followed by your search string. I have keywords set up for Google ("g searchterm"), Wikipedia ("w searchterm"), and of course InformationWeek ("i searchterm"). As Merlin demonstrates, keyword searches are easy to set up in Safari if you've got Sogudi.. They're even simpler to set up in Firefox. It's not so easy keyword searches in Camino, my browser of choice these days, but it can be done.. I haven't bothered configuring most of my favorite search engines in Camino yet, so I'm using the Internet search plug-in for Quicksilver., which isn't quite as complete but it's easier to set up. « Will Widgets Make The Mobile Web Better? | Main | Hilarious E-Mail Feud Between Video Rental Store And Lawyer » |
