An Invitation To Technology Startups
Business-technology startups have a new channel for getting the word out about their products and services. InformationWeek will begin highlighting startups each week in a new section of the magazine called Startup City. Emerging tech companies: Tell us about your bright ideas! InformationWeek has always covered startup companies. What’s different now is that we’re devoting a page in our weekly print magazine to the people and the business models behind up-and-coming tech vendors. The new section will launch in the Sept. 17 issue of InformationWeek and go to our entire circulation of 440,000 readers. Tech startups are invited to nominate themselves for coverage by completing an online application that involves basic information about their offerings, founders, and funding. Entrepreneurs can find a link to the form on InformationWeek’s related Startup City weblog or by clicking here. InformationWeek editors will evaluate the submissions received each week and choose a newbie to write about in the magazine. Startups that complete our online application will also be considered for other types of editorial coverage, including blog postings, news stories, and features. The ground rules: We’re mainly interested in tech startups geared toward business environments, less so in consumer-oriented gadgets and Web sites. They should have a business model, funding, and a year or two of experience, including, preferably, early adopter customers. Some of the companies we’ve written about on InformationWeek’s two-month-old Startup City weblog serve as examples. Take a look. They include Aggregate Knowledge, AlarmPoint, Baynote, Jaxtr, Kosmix, , and Workday. So, the gates to InformationWeek’s Startup City are officially thrown open. You’ll be hearing more about those that come through in the weeks ahead. « Are CIOs Disappearing (Part II)? If They Don't Master Business Value, The Answer Is 'Yes' | Main | Mobile Security 101 » |
