Have hotspot, will travel.CradlePoint today announced a new personal Wi-Fi hotspot product that you can carry with you everywhere you go. Have hotspot, will travel.CradlePoint's new portable Wi-Fi solution, the PHS300, is a pocket-sized gizmo that runs on battery power or regular AC. PHS stands for Personal HotSpot, in case you hadn't guessed that already. The PHS300 is designed to let users extend their mobile, cellular broadband connection with those around them. It's a mini-hotspot-in-a-box.
Users can plug their laptop into the PHS300 and share their mobile broadband connection. Don't worry, if you don't have a laptop card you can just use your smartphone or other cellular device as the broadband source, so long as your device has a mobile Web connection. The PHS300 is available for $179.
