CES: Via Text-to-Speech, BlueAnt's Bluetooth-Based SuperTooth 3 Says Who's Calling
At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, BlueAnt Wireless announced the SuperTooth 3 -- a hands-free Bluetooth device that mounts on your car's visor and that uses text-to-speech technology to tell you who is calling on the phone (so you don't have to look at a display to figure that out -- potentially causing an accident). The way the SuperTooth 3 works, according to BlueAnt senior VP Peter George, is that when you first pair it up with a Bluetooth-based cell phone, it downloads all the contact information stored in that phone. Then, when a call comes in from one of your contacts, it tells you who is calling using text-to-speech technology.

The benefit compared with other visor-mounted hands-free speakerphones for your car is that you don't have to look up at a display to see who is calling (distractions like that are dangerous).
George expects the SuperTooth 3 to be available in April for about $129.
