Nokia Cranks Out Powerful Phones
All the phones announced by Nokia are quad-band GSM/EDGE for worldwide roaming, QVGA displays and S60 3rd Edition. The details I presented in my entry on Friday about the N96 are unchanged. The N96 is a powerful new contender and will be Nokia's flagship N series multimedia computer for 2008. It really is an attractive phone that offers all the latest technologies, including GPS, Maps 2.0, a 5-megapixel camera and S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2. Nokia also announced the N78, which is another highly-capable multimedia phone. It is a bar-style phone that has a 3.2 megapixel camera and lots of advanced features. It supports the N-Gage gaming service and has stereo Bluetooth for music playback. This phone also has S60 Feature Pack 2. Both the N78 and N95 use Nokia's new N series design language that we first saw on the N81, released last summer. Nokia also introduced two 6000 series phones. These phones are mid-range phones that have nearly as many features as the N series. The 6210 Navigator is a phone that focuses on pedestrian navigation. It has on-board GPS, and has Nokia's new Maps 2.0 application with new features, such as Walk, that provides those walking around city streets turn-by-turn directions. It also provides information about buildings and streets to help with navigation. It has a 3.2 megapixel camera and HSDPA 3G that is compatible with North American markets. The 6220 Classic is a traditional phone from Nokia that adds a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics. It also captures VGA-quality video at 30 frames per second. All of the phones go on sale later this year and range from $435 to $800 in price. « Did The iPhone Save This Oklahoma Man From Freezing To Death? | Main | Sony Ericsson Unleashes Windows Mobile Smartphone iPhone Competitor » |
