Passing the phone over the tags automatically triggers downloads, opens applications, or performs just about any sort of task you can think of.
While NFC has been slower to gain traction than perhaps the industry woud like, the NFC Forum today stated that it expects to see large-scale deployments starting this year and stretching into next.
