MozyPro Resellers And Users Get Reprieve On Price Hike

Posted by Howard Marks, Mar 7, 2008 01:26 PM

In an e-mail yesterday, MozyPro resellers learned that the price hike for server protection that was to go into effect March 1 has been postponed until the 12th (next Wednesday). The delay was "due to the overwhelming amount of feedback from our resellers and the lack of time we've had to respond and address a lot of you." The e-mail includes a FAQ section I've posted below. The biggest news there is that users grandfathered in will be able to expand their storage for existing servers at $0.50 per GB per month indefinitely.

If I have MozyPro installed on a server, will my price renew at the higher rate?

No. All licenses and storage associated with those licenses you've purchased before the price change will always renew at the current rate as long as you have an account with us. Any licenses purchased do not need to be assigned to a machine to lock in the grandfathered rate.

Do I have to purchase storage to lock in my rate?

No. Storage purchased for grandfathered licenses will always be the same rate of $0.50 per GB per month.

Will grandfathered licenses be eligible for the upcoming features of MozyPro Server?

Absolutely. Grandfathered licenses will concurrently receive the same features and updates for MozyPro Server.

Will my clients on grandfathered licenses need to switch to MozyPro Server?

You will not need to make any changes to your existing licenses used on servers. Grandfathered licenses will receive their own separate updates and support both a server and a desktop.

If I prepurchase storage for grandfathered licenses, can I allocate that storage to the new MozyPro Server licenses?

No. After the price change, storage will be purchased on the license-level. Hence, we recommend you purchase grandfathered licenses before the price change.
