Mapness is just such a company, and you could sense the wide-eyed fear of expectation as Wojciech Kosinski talked about this online journal site.Today, Mapness is an online travel blog, but the goal is to become a social network for online travel journaling, where the community can share recommendations and photos. So, for example, if you were planning a trip somewhere, you could see where others have been (and I mean literally see where they've been), and read thoughts and recommendations by other travelers.
Pretty interesting site, but there's lots of work to do for this eight-month-old company that just put its site up three months ago, including building widgets for the major social networking sites.
