Viral Video Of The Week: Home Sweet Cube

Posted by Tom LaSusa, Apr 4, 2008 10:19 AM

Office pranks have come a long way since those early days of filling a vacationing co-worker's cubicle with packing peanuts or covering all the items in her office with tinfoil. This one, for example, gives new meaning to the phrase "home away from home."

To encapsulate:

Work-weary Stewart Douglas was looking forward to his three-week long vacation to the Dominican Republic -- except for one thing. He knew that his office mates were notorious for pulling pranks on vacationing co-workers. Nevertheless, Stewart bid his buddies adieu and flew off for 21 days of sun, surf, and sand.

With his departure, the master plan for what will probably go down as the greatest office prank ever began to unfurl.

Clearly, Stewart is a good friend and good sport -- and hopefully very good at retaliation. I fear for his pranksters when they jet off to their vacations. Maybe set up some surveillance cams, guys?

Have you ever or any of your fellow denizens of cubes-ville pulled a really good office prank? What did you think of Stewart's cozy little cabin? Tell us in the comments below.

Any suggestions you have for future Viral Videos of the Week? Send them to me at tlasusa@techweb.com. (Nothing rated "R," guys -- gotta think of the kids.)
