You Wanna Rock? Guitar Hero Now Available On BlackBerrys

Posted by Eric Zeman, Apr 3, 2008 07:39 PM

Every mobile professional faces downtime when on the road. Those little patches of space between meetings or at the airport that aren't long enough to get any work done provide a golden opportunity to goof off. Now that includes channeling your inner Slash with Guitar Hero Mobile on BlackBerrys.

I play guitar in real life. It's one of my favorite pastimes. While I can pull a John Petrucci riff out of my hat every now and then on my ax at home, I am ashamed to admit that I stink at Guitar Hero (the actual game).

I am much better at Guitar Hero mobile. And darn if it isn't fun to play. I got to see a demo of it this week at CTIA and was really impressed with how well it actually works. You use the keys on the phone to hit the notes as they move past and play your tunes.

If your fingers aren't already too tired from sending e-mails all day, they're definitely going to get a workout playing Guitar Hero III.

"With the success of the Guitar Hero franchise, including the console version and mobile game, we know that BlackBerry users are anxious to get their hands on the hottest title to hit the mobile platform," said Nicholas Reichenbach, executive VP of Magmic, in a prepared statement. "As part of an already successful partnership with Hands-On Mobile, the release of this game is something we are excited about both internally and for our BlackBerry customers."

The song selection is fairly wide and will offer enough choices for everyone to find something they like.

To access the game on your BlackBerry, simply go to bplay.com and select Guitar Hero III Mobile.
