iPhone Sells Out At O2, 3G iPhone Spy Shots Emerge
U.K. network operator O2 has sold out of its supply of 8-GB and 16-GB iPhones. It has no plans to restock either model, suggesting that the 3G iPhone will soon be available. There are some subtle changes compared with the current model. The iPhone, in its current iteration, is beginning to sell out in countries over in Europe. This could be due, in part, to the recent price cuts the device has seen. O2, a U.K.-based network operator, slashed its prices drastically and has seen stock of the wunderphone plummet to zero. Both the O2 and Carphone Warehouse Web sites declare as much.
This could be a signal that O2 -- and other network operators -- are awaiting the arrival of the 3G iPhone to replenish supplies. With the 3G iPhone reports coming fast and furious, now is probably not the time to become a new iPhone customer. Waiting at least until June 9, when Steve Jobs will give his keynote address at the WWDC, would be prudent.

And of course, what good would the Internet be if it didn't serve up a tasty sampling of spot shots of the iPhone? Here is a link where you can see some purported pictures of the 3G iPhone.
There are a couple of minor differences. First, the back of the iPhone has a more rounded look. Also, there are some areas of the front face that suggest there may be a user-facing camera on the 3G iPhone. This would be used for video calling services. The other possibility here is that the areas in question are for light sensors, which can be used to automatically adjust the brightness of the iPhone's screen depending on the lighting conditions. Lastly, there are some interesting cavities on the phone's bottom edge. These could really be for anything.
As Engadget's Ryan Block says, keep in mind that "Photoshop is a hell of a tool."
