Tooting Our Own Mobile Horn
BlackBerry and iPhone owners, listen up. We heard your requests and we're here to tell you that InformationWeek.com for mobile devices is ready for you now at mobile.informationweek.com.BlackBerry and iPhone owners, listen up. We heard your requests and we're here to tell you that InformationWeek.com for mobile devices is ready for you now at mobile.informationweek.com.Tom Smith, editor in chief of online, sent out the announcement this morning and we're pleased as punch. The look and feel of the site has been vastly improved. The page is now easier to navigate and it's been streamlined so you can get to the information that you want faster.
Working with mobile vendor mDog, we were able to quickly launch our new site in a time frame of one week. From any mobile phone with Web access, you can simply type the url www.informationweek.com, or mobile.informationweek.com, and see our new mobile site.

I'd continue to keep crowing about the re-vamp, but Tom did a better job at explaining the new stuff. Here's part that memo:
Key enhancements include the search function, sorting of content by topic (consistent with our live site), "more" dropdowns that allow you to search all the topical subcategories associated with our site, the ability to scale the font (small, medium, large) and more. In the very near term, we'll be adding an "IW" icon that can be placed on the main screen/desktop of the BlackBerry and navigate someone directly to our site.
While the site can be viewed by any phone with a mobile browser, it's best experienced (and the enhancements are most evident) if you have a BlackBerry or an Apple iPhone. The iPhone presentation is especially impressive, because it most closely matches our site.
So check it out and feel free to send me feedback.
