Who Is Tomorrow's CIO?

We're looking for nominations for the future leaders in business technology, or those already in place, who have the right stuff to lead their companies into the dynamic and demanding business environment of the 21st century.

"Tomorrow's CIO" is the theme of our upcoming InformationWeek 500 Conference. It's also the subject of a new feature story and a longer InformationWeek Analytical Report, to be published later this month. Both are based on an extensive survey of more than 700 corporate managers and CIOs and VP-of-IT-level executives.

What are the attributes and abilities needed to be Tomorrow's CIO? The feature story lays out some of those, based on data from the survey. But I'd love to hear what you have to say about it. What do you see as the most necessary skills for a future technology leader? What's the right fuel mix of technology and business savvy, process and people skills, vision and project management capability?

Do you have a specific candidate in mind for the title of Tomorrow's CIO? Let us know and we'll extend an invitation to that person for the InformationWeek 500 Conference. Also, that person will be considered for our InformationWeek Chief of the Year award at the end of the year.

At the conference, we'll feature discussions on today's pressing technology and business issues and those of the future, among IT chiefs who demonstrate many of the attributes of Tomorrow's CIO. And you can be sure you'll rub elbows with many other forward-thinking business technology leaders.
