3G iPhone Burns User
A MacRumors reader recently posted this in its forums: A few hours ago, I fell asleep on my couch and woke up from extreme pain coming from my pocket... He includes pictures of the phone, which is obviously damaged, and of his leg, which has a nice red burn on it. The plastic around the dock connector, in particular, looks melted. According to the user, "no push emails, and the 'Blazing 3G Speed' was disabled too since the lack of 3G in Hot Springs, Ark. Also, I don't think it was because [a key] was pressed, I was laying sideways with the phone side up..." I have noticed the back surface of the 3G iPhone can become very warm. I wouldn't say "hot", but definitely warmer than any other phone I've used. For a phone to become so hot that it actually burns the man's skin, however, is far beyond typical behavior. The user said, "I really don't want to form a lawsuit, I just want a replacement, the burn isn't severe, maybe like a sunburn." « IT Arrives At The Beijing Airport | Main | Microsoft's Word To Investors About Open Source » |
