Not that you'd want to, but if you needed to... basic SSH clients are out for iPhone 2.0Tweaking your ESX host or CISCO gear from your kid's birthday at Chucky E Cheese just got easier. Or at least, less obvious then breaking out your laptop and tethered phone while other parents glare at you.

Touch Term ($2.99) and the slightly more robust iSSH and pTerm (both $4.99) offer basic command line functionality. To my understanding, none of the clients support SSH tunnels, so your level of personal and institutional paranoia should come into play before using.

You won't want to create a full config with your iPhone or Touch, but you can hop in and tweak a setting or two. If you have to.

WiFi, 3G and Edge are supported by all three apps.

Add in the VPN functionality of v2.0 for iPhones and the iPod Touch, and you've got a decent solution for holy-cow I forgot to do X moments. From your kid's birthday party. At Chuck E Cheese. Without your spouse hating you. Not that I've done this. Not that you'd want to, but if you needed to... basic SSH clients are out for iPhone 2.0
