Mark Cuban: Internet Video Not Good Enough

Posted by Fritz Nelson, Aug 4, 2008 03:50 PM

Mark Cuban made his fortunes with Internet radio. He's making his noise about Internet video, taking swipes in his blog at YouTube, the Internet as a delivery medium, NBC, and anyone doing HD on the Internet.

Ultimately, I agree with one of Cuban's main points, which is that all of this video needs to live not on some DVR, but in the cloud, on demand, accessible through a customizable channel guide that pipes video programming from the Web or anywhere else onto any device. But I think -- indeed, I hope -- he is wrong about the Internet's ability to handle the capacity and offer some level of quality of service.

I had a chance to talk to him recently about these and other topics in Los Angeles. Oh, and we shot this in HD!
