Drupal Takes Home 2008 Overall Open Source CMS Award
Packt Publishing announced the winners of the awards over the course of this past week, and while the open source content management community doesn't have quite the equivalent of an Oscar, this comes pretty close. Minus the red carpet, as far as I know... Below is the full list of winners. For additional details, follow the links. Overall Open Source CMS Award Most Promising Open Source CMS Award Best Open Source PHP CMS Award Best Other (non-PHP) Open Source CMS Award A total of 24 Open Source CMS MVPs also were announced earlier in the week, with one MVP being selected for each of a number of prominent systems. The full list of MVP award recipients is on the site. Packt Publishing started with nominations back in July and the finalists were announced in September. Although Packt Publishing sponsors and hosts the awards, they're actually judged by content management industry experts. I particularly enjoy these annual awards because they shine a spotlight on some lesser-known platforms that deserve the attention. We'll talk more about some of the new names that have shown up on this list in the coming months. « 'Linux-Haters Blog' Signs Off | Main | Will Verizon Wireless Give Away The BlackBerry Storm For Free? » |
