Verizon Wireless: BlackBerry Storm Available Nov. 21 For $200

Posted by Eric Zeman, Nov 13, 2008 08:11 AM

This is it, the final and official confirmation we've all been waiting for. If you're in the market for a touch-screen BlackBerry Storm, it will be available on Nov. 21

None of the rumors panned out exactly correct. Heck, some of the information I received from Verizon Wireless retail stores and corporate representatives was not accurate.

In the end, it comes down to this. The BlackBerry Storm will be available to anyone who wishes to buy it starting on Friday, November 21.

Your out-of-pocket cost will be $249.99 for the phone, plus activation fee and taxes. If you agree to a new two-year agreement with an email/data plan (which is mandatory), you'll be eligible for a $50 mail-in rebate. The rebate drops the final cost of the device itself for $199.99 before taxes and fees.

So RIM and Verizon have decided to match the cost of the 3G iPhone 8GB, though the rebate game always requires users to actually remember to participate.

You can read more details about the Storm itself and the available options and plans on the Verizon Wireless site, here.
