T-Mobile Handset Schedule Hits The Tubes
Here's the tentative rollout plan: Jan. 21: Sony Ericsson TM506 in scarlet The one that pops out at me is the BlackBerry Curve 8900, which has also been called the Javelin. This is the update to the much-beloved Curve, and Research In Motion says it's the thinnest-ever BlackBerry with a full QWERTY keyboard. Beyond the style, it has Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and the multimedia features you'd expect from a modern smartphone. The only negative is that it lacks 3G to hop on T-Mobile's growing mobile broadband network, but the EDGE support is more than enough for e-mails. The other interesting release is the Samsung Memoir, which packs a whopping 8-megapixel camera. It's not technically a smartphone, but it should have 3G access, 3G, and it'll have the widget-happy TouchWiz user interface. The Shadow should be a decent Windows Mobile smartphone, and it should be sporting Windows Mobile 6.1 and have T-Mobile's @Home access. The other devices may not blow your socks off if you're a smartphone user, but it's encouraging to see that many of them will have 3G access. Thanks again, BGR. « The (Not Quite) End Of Security On The Internet | Main | Beating Swords Into Data Centers » |
