LG took the time to rehash announcements of phones that have been on the market for months, and also touted its sales figures (35 million phones sold in the U.S. during 2008) and number one status with several U.S. carriers.
The only "new" announcement wasn't really new at all. During the middle of the press conference, the head of LG's mobile division took a phone call on his watch. Yes, his watch. LG showed off the GD910, a watch that seemingly has it all.
Specs include 7.2-Mbps HSDPA, voice recognition, Bluetooth, speakerphone, an integrated music player, video calling, and a touchscreen. Not bad. LG is going to start producing the watchphone later this year. No word on who is going to sell it.
LG also showed off the HFB-500 Solar Car Kit. The HFB-500 uses the power of the sun to charge the Bluetooth speakerphone module. It provides up to 16 hours of talk time and 1,100 hours of standby time on a single charge. It will generate one hour of talk time for every two hours spend charging in the sun. No price point or availability was provided.
That's all from the land of LG, where they still believe they're marketing motto: Life's Good.
