The G1 Gets Multitouch
First off, here's the video (tip of the hat to jkOnTheRun): The impressive thing about this is the developer had to tap into Android's OS kernel, which was the promise of Google's mobile operating system to begin with. But I'm a bit disappointed by the pace of innovation so far, especially on Google's end. While I understand the search giant shouldn't rush out half-baked updates, I think G1 users need something to get excited about (especially if the Cupcake update never shows up). Of course, one of the main speed bumps to bringing multitouch capabilities to an Android device may be Apple. The iPhone maker has been making a lot of news lately saying it will go after competitors that implement its Multi-Touch patent. While most of Apple's ire has been focused on the Palm Pre, I'm sure it would be more than happy to go after Google. « Schwarzenegger's 'Restructuring' Plan Provides Comic -- Not Financial -- Relief | Main | Hard Decisions Loom As CMS Vendors Face Tough Times » |
