Watch Me Beat The Snot Out Of A Motorola Tundra

Have you ever wondered just how tough rugged products are? I have, and I decided to see just how far I could push Motorola's newest rugged handset, the VA76r Tundra. Find out if it can survive the heat of a blowtorch.

Have you ever wondered just how tough rugged products are? I have, and I decided to see just how far I could push Motorola's newest rugged handset, the VA76r Tundra. Find out if it can survive the heat of a blowtorch.Motorola may be facing hard times, but it still knows how to make rugged equipment that can take a beating and get the job done at the end of the day.

Motorola's VA76r Tundra is a push-to-talk phone for AT&T's network that offers the convenience of walkie-talkie functions with the features of a regular flip phone.

It has a 2-megapixel camera that also captures video, a music player, a capable 3G Web browser, and Bluetooth, and it supports microSD cards for storing media.

Phone calls sounded great, and the Tundra was a champ at remaining connected to AT&T's 3G network all over the place.

All of that is ancillary to the fact that it's designed for the rough-and-tumble life in the field.

Here's a list of the abuses I put the Tundra through:

I kicked it. I threw it. I stood on it. I mashed it. I drove over it. I buried it in snow. I hit it with a hammer. I hit it with a wrench. I heated it with a blowtorch. I chilled it to 0 degrees F. I held it under running water.

Can your workforce do better?
