Reuters is reporting that Verizon Wireless is primed to begin offering a netbook. Such a device would be offered at a subsidized price, most likely in conjunction with a wireless data plan (~$60/month). Sources indicate that Verizon is speaking to more than one netbook manufacturer about the hardware, but other details are pretty soft. It's possible we'll see Verizon netbooks as early as next quarter.

Verizon competitor AT&T already offers a netbook in a partnership with RadioShack. The $99 device requires a two-year contract, which costs $60 per month for 5GB of wireless broadband data. Any such deal from Verizon would likely be similar to AT&T's.

Sling Player for BlackBerries

If you love your SlingBox, here's some great news. Sling Media's Sling Player for BlackBerries has graduated from beta stage and is available as a 1.0 release! The software allows BlackBerry users to watch content stored on the SlingBox while on the road. The application costs $30 to buy and lets users fine-tune how it streams to their device. An unlimited data plan is strongly recommended. If you're not sure, Sling Media is offering a free 30-day trial of the software. Check it out here. (A SlingBox is required for Sling Player for BlackBerries to work.)

Free BlackBerry Bold

Last up is today's blue light special. If you've been hankering for some BlackBerry Bold smartphone action, but were scared off by the $300 price tag, AT&T has a deal for you. Today and today only, you can buy a refurbished BlackBerry Bold for free, as long as you're willing to sign a a two-year contract. Refurbished hardware may or may not be used, but it is in "like-new" condition.
