This has been an exhausting and on-going saga. It was widely believed that firmware 4.7.0.113 was going to be the next official update for the BlackBerry Storm's software. I know for a fact that Verizon Wireless personnel are using this software build.

Now, there's word that 4.7.0.141 is making its way internally through Research In Motion. There's no official confirmation from either RIM or Verizon that this firmware update is available, and it has yet to be leaked to download sites. No changelog has been made available, so no one knows what -- if anything -- the latest build fixes.

I've been running 4.7.0.113 on my Storm with few issues. If you're interested in installing 4.7.0.141, happy hunting and good luck.

I Love My BlackBerry Application

This is rich. Some inventive dudes have put together a new application that will help you determine exactly how addicted to your BlackBerry you really are.

According to CrackBerry.com, the application is free and will let you track how much you use your BlackBerry by the second, week, month as well as an average. In the end, you'll be left with the sad truth of how much time you spend ignoring everything around you for that little black slab of mobile technology.

Niagara Update

Closing out our round up of BlackBerry scuttlebutt, the BlackBerry 9630 Niagara has been renamed the "Tour". According to the Boy Genius Report, it will be available from Verizon Wireless in July for $199.
