Boost Mobile: We'll Fix The SMS Issues By Thursday, We Promise!
Last week, we learned that Boost Mobile was facing difficulties delivering SMS and MMS messages in a timely fashion. They were arriving hours after being sent. They were arriving hours after being sent. Now, Boost claims it has discovered the cause of the problem and will have it fixed by May 7.Boost recently unveiled an completely unlimited plan for $50 per month. For $50, users get unlimited calls, SMS, MMS and Web browsing, all without the ball-and-chain contract to weigh them down. Sounds like a great deal, but it hit a small snag: Messages weren't being delivered on time.
Boost copped to the issue, and said they're working on it. The company admitted that the plan's popularity has been stressful for the network. John Votava, a spokesperson for Boost, told the Wall Street Journal that the company has figured out the problem and a fix is on the way.

He noted, "[Engineers have] assured us we have a fix in place by next week, specifically by May 7th. We've received comments from customers via our Facebook page, and we've had a few vocal customers on the site who were complaining about it, and who have since changed their tune, saying that their service has been stellar in the last few days."
Given the value that Boost is giving to its customers with this plan, it's good to see they are being responsible for the issue and working to get a fix in place as soon as they can. Given how much I rely on SMS to communicate with friends, family and co-workers, I am sure the fix can't come soon enough for Boost's subscribers.
