Storm users can look for it on Sunday, May 31.I just received an email from Verizon Wireless spokesperson Brenda Raney. She said, "The OS version 4.7.0.148 is a general maintenance release that improves the overall user experience. Customers will be able to get the update via the Web at www.blackberry.com/update beginning Sunday May 31 from 3pm Eastern Time."
I asked for a full list of changes and/or improvements, but I have yet to receive a response from Verizon. In my experience, 4.7.0.148 is the best firmware release for the Storm yet.

With 4.7.0.148, the Storm's UI is more stable. The device shouldn't randomly re-start as it did with previous firmware versions. The home screen is more responsive and less laggy. The lock/unlock key behaves as it should. The camera is more responsive, and so is the photo gallery.
Raney went on to say, "Verizon Wireless will also be rolling this update out to customers through an over-the-air download beginning Sunday night (10pm Eastern Time). To get the download over the air, go to Options> Advanced Options > Wireless Updates."
So there you go. An official update for BlackBerry Storm 9530 is just around the corner.
