Google Makes Nice With S60, Offers Full Google Mobile App

Google has several different versions of the Google Mobile app for smartphone platforms such as the iPhone and Windows Mobile. Now, Google coughed up a version for S60 devices. Let the rejoicing begin.

I am a fan of the Google Mobile Application. It wraps up a host of different Google services into one tidy little app on smartphones. Google had offered an S60-specific search application, but hadn't offered the full version of the mobile app until today. So what do S60 users now have access to?

First, the Google Search tool has been updated and is faster and more powerful. MyLocation has been built into the application. This means when MyLocation is turned on, users will see results that are relevant to their location. In other words, if you are standing in Times Square and search for Starbucks, it isn't going to send you links to Starbucks locations in Seattle. This feature is optional, and can be disabled.

The search application also remembers your search history. So if you often repeat the same search, you won't have to type it in over and over. It also offers suggestions as you type.

The application makes Google Maps, Gmail, and other Google mobile services but a thumb press away.

Google Mobile for S60 is a free download. Just type m.google.com into your phone's browser to get it.
