The leaks across the Internet continue. The latest smartphone to be exposed comes from HTC. Codenamed "Leo", this Windows Mobile 6.5 device features a massive 4.3-inch display that packs 800 x 480 pixels.All I can say is, dang.

Most of today's touch phones have screens that range between 2.8 and 3.5 inches. The screens that measure three inches and up are really great to use, and the increased screen real estate makes a huge difference in the overall usability.

The HTC Leo will be King of the Hill once it makes it out to the market. This monster of a smartphone boasts a competition-killing, 4.3-inch capacitive display. That's just incredibly huge. It has 800 x 480 pixels, which means video, images and web sites are going to look fantastic.

What's more, the Leo will have a 1GHz Qualcomm 8250B Snapdragon processor. This is important, especially for HTC. Many of HTC's high-end, TouchFLO 3D smartphones are powered by a meager 528MHz processor. I recently tested several different versions of the HTC Touch Pro2. I can say with authority that both phones -- each running on a 528MHz processor -- are way underpowered. For HTC to move to a 1GHz chip from Qualcomm is probably more exciting than the size of the display.

Other specs that are noteworthy include a 5 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, GPS, microSD support, light sensor, accelerometer, and 3.5mm headset jack. The version that has been spec'd runs quad-band GSM/EDGE radios, and 900/2100MHz WCDMA, which supports 3G networks in Europe but not the U.S.

HTC has not officially announced this device, and it is unknown if a North American variant is in the works. Even if not, this is a really exciting Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone.
