While there's been a lot of talk recently about fundamental upheavals in the global outsourcing industry, this year's list of the top 8 outsourcing cities in the world remains the same as last year's, according to a joint study by experts Tholons and Global Services.
Among the top 8 are six cities in India, plus Manila and Dublin. Here's the list, and to read about the outsourcing trends in any particular city, the links will take you to analyses from Global Services:

3) Mumbai
4) Manila
5) Dublin
6) Chennai
7) Hyderabad
8) Pune
In its analysis of top-ranked Bangalore, Global Services said that success has led to some challenges in not only the municipal infrastructure needed to sustain a rapidly growing city of more than 10 million, but also in attrition rates due to intense competition and availability of new opportunities:
The city continues to be in the top slot of the Top 8 Global Outsourcing Cities list for the fourth consecutive year. . . . Amidst the after effects of Satyam scam, low and stagnant pay packages of IT professionals, and the not-so-improving infrastructure problem, Bangalore still survives as the Silicon Valley of India. Big three service providers—Infosys, TCS and Wipro—in the city continue to attract major chunk of global buyers. . . . However, the attrition rate in the city is a concern. The ball park number for ITO companies in Bangalore is around 15 to 30 percent. BPO has a higher range due to the large spectrum of services, around 40 to 80 percent.
