The +1 button, Google's version of the Facebook "Like" button,
loads much faster now, due to changes Google made to its systems and to the introduction of a new tool to generate async snippets, blocks of code that webmasters can insert in their websites to render +1 buttons. Async, or asynchronous, networking code can connect to a remote server without interfering with other processes, like those handling Web page rendering.
Those interested in previewing such changes before they get pushed live should consider joining Google+ Platform Preview, a program that provides early access to changes planned for Google+.
