Boonsri Dickinson

Associate Editor of BYTE

BIO

Boonsri Dickinson is the Associate Editor of BYTE. Prior to joining BYTE, she was a freelance journalist for CBS Interactive (SmartPlanet and CNET) and was a staff writer at Business Insider, where she covered startups and venture capital in Silicon Valley. Before that, she was a staff writer at Discover magazine in New York, where she wrote feature stories. While there, she was one of the first people to get her DNA sequenced -- and went dinosaur digging and got a dino named after her.

Today, she's obsessed with all things digital, including web videos and social media. At BYTE, she will trot around the world to tech conferences to discover emerging and major players in technology-- and most likely record her adventures with her iPhone for you to see. While it may not seem like her master's degree in chemical engineering degree is being put to good use, it comes in handy sometimes when she needs to figure out input and output of a process -- and of course, it's an easy way to impress people. However, her interest in technology started back when she was a toddler, back in the 80s when her Dad, a typical computer engineer, subscribed to the original BYTE magazine. Follow her on Twitter at @boonspoon.
